Gordon Brothers Continues Longstanding Partnership with Cradles to Crayons through Donation of Goods
As part of our longstanding partnership with Cradles to Crayons, Gordon Brothers has made a donation of items for children in need. These items include shoes, diapers, blankets, wipes and bedding, all important necessities for the young children that Cradles to Crayons serves.
Gordon Brothers has a long history of supporting this important nonprofit, donating many hours of service through the firm’s Global Giveback program. Global Giveback day is an annual employee event where Gordon Brothers employees spend the day volunteering with local nonprofits to give back to the communities of which we are a part.
Founded in Boston in 2002, Cradles to Crayons is focused on sharing and recycling quality children’s items for newborns through age 12. Their three-step model provides kids with the essentials they need, free of charge. New and nearly new children’s items are collected through grassroots community drives and corporate donations, and packaged by volunteers in the Cradles to Crayons warehouse. Packages are then distributed to local disadvantaged children — through a collaborative network of diverse service partners.
In addition to its Boston “Giving Factory,” Cradles to Crayons now operates sites in Chicago and Philadelphia, with further growth planned. The nonprofit works with 75,000 families, individuals, community groups, and corporate volunteers in its Giving Factories and at community-based events, serving over 245,000 children every year.
